The Arts Theatre

Moving swiftly on, we have "the West End’s smallest commercial receiving house..." Active since 1927, it boasts: "...an eclectic programme chosen by Executive Director Louis Hartshorn.

It certainly has a fascinating history (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arts_Theatre). Today, this is the type of venue to use as a platform from which to launch a new show, of appropriate size, ready to tour or one looking for a run in London.

Companies House shows producers, Louis James Hartshorn and Brain Hook took over the lease in 2014 under the name Paradise Theatre Limited, although that was dissolved in 2016.

As of writing this, Mr Hartshorn operates Immersive Everywhere Limited from the building, along with various branded immersive ventures: IE Peppa Pig Ltd; IE Star Trek Ltd; IE Peaky Blinders Ltd; along with several other projects.

The theatre's current show, The Choir of Man appears to have an immersive element. It's a musical sing-a-long by the look of it. Set during a lock-in at a bar called The Jungle, there's a functioning bar on-stage. The audience can order their drinks for collection from it before the show. starts.

Now, there's a clever gimmick for selling your alchohol before and during the evening – make it part of the theatrical experience. Having operated a Warwickshire pub for 18 years, and the theatre for the last 10, managing director Lizzie Scott, would certainly have plenty of expertise.

Originally set up as an arts club in order to get around the country's censorship laws, it always did have a clubby atmosphere conducive to networking.

There's two rehearsal rooms, with a 60 seat studio theatre at one time; two floors or creative office space; the Arts Theatre Cafe and the Covent Garden Social Club; a cocktail bar and social space which, "serves the entertainment industry as a workspace in the daytime and hosts regular live music in the evenings."

So, if you've got a snappy, snazzy, hit show in the making, having an investors run through upstairs in one of the rehearsal spaces could pay dividends. The venue worked as the pre-tour launch pad for Six after being picked up at the Edinburgh fringe.
