With a mantlepiece full of entertainment awards, a CBE, the Theatre Royal, Windsor and The Other Palace to run, Bill Kenwright certainly deserves to be one of Liverpool's proudest sons.

According to his Wiki page, "It has been estimated that he employs more actors in a year than any employer other than the BBC."

Checking out the Bill Kenwright and Windsor Theatre website's will show you what type of material the company is interested in – mainstream musical theatre.

The Other Palace was Lord Lloyd Webber's former development venue for new British musical theatre.

Now under new management, its website has various initiatives worth checking out. The 'Get Involved' tab leads you to the podcast: Making a Musical: The Future of British Musical Theatre with a, 'Submit Your Musical', link.

It's not surprising a strong synopsis is an early requirement. A well developed narrative outline is the DNA of a musical's 'book' and you only have to listen to dearly departed, Stephen Sondheim, to know how important that is to a musical's success.

Understanding your subject matter and its theme(s) means each note and word can contribute to a musical's dramatic intention and voice.

Well, this little bit of research has certainly been interesting. I know what podcast I'm going to be subscribing to!
