About

I love shooting actors (in a good way that is!) because, like acting, it's about portraying something of the truth in a person.

I believe no one's better at being you, than you. You're already the best there is. My task is to bring that out.

I've come to photography via working as an actor-musician, a degree in filmmaking, picking up a Cert. Ed. in audio production and an MA in scriptwriting along the way, so if you need help with show and voice-reels or self-tapes, we can do that too.

If you're an actor wanting things for your Spotlight page, take a look at the resources tab above where you'll find links to advice from the people at Spotlight.

There's also our blog that performing arts practitioners, of any discipline, interested in researching jobs and opportunities can find useful.

I'm not Mr Chatty-Photographer-Man keeping up banal banter in an effort to 'manage' the client.

Expect a nice relaxed session, with as many outfit changes as you like but three or four is enough. There's usually 85-100 shots taken. You can have them all. I'll edit up to 8.

RE: skin blemishes, a common policy is anything that won't be there in two weeks can be removed, but it's not like we're counting. As the Spotlight advice says, the important thing is to be portrayed as you really are.

I'm in Liverpool, UK and we can work in my home studio or one in the city. Bring a friend or family member if you want the company.

Oh, and re: my including the initial of my middle name, it turns out there's more than one Mark Holme who's a photographer – who knew, huh?

This one looks forward to hearing from you, whenever you're ready for your close up.
