This is the first in a series of posts looking at the UK theatre industry, its venues, production companies, funding and support organisations.
Where to find them? For large and established companies, the UK Theatre Association is a good place to start. The .pdf, available at the top of the Resources page and at the bottom of this post, is a list of the association's members.
Download it and check it out. We'll be going through the list, seeing what the various theatres and production companies are up to.
What about the smaller companies? For them, the Independent Theatre Council is a treasure trove of information, advice and support.
These organisations are primarily for theatre managers, administrators and producers. For performers, such organisations provide an excellant source for further research into an extensive network of possible employers, repertoire and seasonal programming.
In the next blog post we'll start taking a closer look and explore how you can use them to research the industry.
In the meantime, you can take a look at their websites below and get a better idea of what they're about.
